
CODELCO Delegation Arrives in India
Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) welcomed a high-level delegation from CODELCO, Chile’s State-owned copper mining company, in New Delhi today. The visit marks a significant step in Indo-Chilean cooperation in the field of mineral exploration and mining technology.
First-of-its-Kind Knowledge Exchange Mission
The CODELCO team, comprising domain experts, will conduct a three-week nationwide tour of HCL units and facilities. Their mission: to assess mining and operational systems, share global best practices, and explore areas of mutual collaboration.

MoU Signed Under PM Modi’s Presence
This collaboration stems from a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on April 1, 2025, in the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the President of Chile, Mr. Gabriel Boric Font. The MoU was executed by Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Singh, CMD of HCL, and Mr. Ruben Alvarado Vigar, CEO of CODELCO.
The agreement promotes joint efforts in mining exploration, technology sharing, mineral beneficiation, and training programs for workforce development in both nations.
