Raksha Mantri Launches Volume-II of President Murmu’s Speeches Showcasing Viksit Bharat Vision
On June 23, 2025, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh released a curated collection of 51 speeches delivered by President Smt Droupadi Murmu during her second year in office. The book, titled ‘Wings to Our Hopes (Volume-II)’, was launched at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of key dignitaries, including Union Ministers Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw and Shri L Murugan.
The book captures President Murmu’s vision, priorities, and commitment toward inclusive development, covering themes from innovation and education to culture, equality, and public service. The speeches span from August 2023 to July 2024 and are available in both Hindi and English formats along with an e-version.
Raksha Mantri highlighted that the book is not just a compilation but a guiding light toward Viksit Bharat by 2047. He praised President Murmu as a beacon of women-led development and noted her empathy for the underprivileged and deep understanding of India’s diverse cultural heritage.
The speeches emphasize values like morality, heritage, innovation, sensitivity in administration, and public service. The compilation is seen as a reflection of India’s character and a treasure trove of inspiration for future generations.
President Murmu’s role as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces was acknowledged, particularly for her encouragement during significant military operations like Operation Sindoor. Her life exemplifies ideals of courage, service, and equality—qualities clearly evident throughout her speeches.
Union I&B Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that this volume serves as a tool to understand contemporary India from the President’s viewpoint. He recounted her heartfelt interaction with visually impaired children at the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities in Dehradun on her birthday, describing her as an icon of simplicity and service.
The book was compiled by Rashtrapati Bhavan and published by the Publications Division under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
