A Milestone Celebration
Today, the Bihar Museum in Patna—known for its advanced technological exhibits—celebrates its 10th foundation day. To mark the occasion, the museum has launched its third Bihar Museum Biennale under the theme “Global South: Shared Heritage”.
Biennale 2025: Connecting the Global South
The third edition of the Biennale runs from August 7 to December 31, 2025, featuring participation from countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Sri Lanka, and Venezuela are among the contributors showcasing art, culture, and heritage.
Kick-off with Heritage Walk
The festivities began with a heritage walk through Patna’s historic landmarks, drawing over 600 participants. The route connected the Patna Museum, the Bihar Museum, and other sites, inviting citizens, especially youth, to engage with the city’s rich cultural legacy.
Highlights of the Biennale
- An international gathering fostering dialogue among Global South institutions.
- Exhibitions of traditional masks, Ramayana-inspired artworks, and contemporary pieces.
- Major Indian cultural bodies—IGNCA, NGMA, ICCR, and Mehrangarh Museum Trust—are contributing to curatorial efforts.
- Activities include seminars, workshops, cultural performances, and exhibitions spanning six months.
