Amit Shah Commends Forces in Chhattisgarh, Reaffirms March 2026 Deadline to End Naxalism

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, visited New Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where he interacted with security personnel involved in anti-Naxal operations. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy CM Shri Vijay Sharma, and senior officials from the Central and State governments.

Shri Amit Shah paid tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and relentless efforts of the Central Armed Police Forces, CoBRA teams, Chhattisgarh Police, and the District Reserve Guard. He acknowledged their role in dismantling Maoist strongholds and expressed confidence in their ability to bring complete victory over Naxalism.

The Home Minister reiterated that India would be free from Naxalism by March 31, 2026. He described this milestone as one of the most significant since Independence and emphasized that the contribution of security forces will be etched in history in golden letters.

He highlighted the suffering endured by tribal populations in Naxal-affected regions over decades, citing nearly 40,000 deaths and massive underdevelopment. As Naxalism is being uprooted, the government is ensuring access to food, healthcare, housing, education, electricity, and clean drinking water in these areas.

Shri Shah stated, “When a child in a Naxal-affected area picks up a pencil instead of a gun, it transforms not just the child’s future, but the nation’s future too.”

He also released a book titled Leor Oyna, based on the real-life experiences of victims of Naxal violence. The book aims to shed light on the suffering caused by extremist violence and counter sympathies toward Naxalism masked under human rights narratives.
