Vice President Applauds Ram Madhav’s Strategic Vision

The Vice President of India addressed a distinguished gathering during the launch of the book ‘The New World: 21st Century Global Order and India’ authored by Shri Ram Madhav. The event served as a platform to celebrate India’s evolving strategic perspective and contributions to global order.

On Democracy and Dialogue

The Vice President emphasized that democracy is fundamentally built on expression and respectful dialogue, referring to the Vedic concept of Anant Vad. He stated, “Respect for the other’s point of view is non-negotiable and must be upheld as a foundation of our national character.”

Book Reflects India’s Philosophical Strength

In praise of the book, the Vice President noted that Shri Ram Madhav stands among India’s modern strategic thinkers. He highlighted the book’s examination of global liberal order, India’s civilizational philosophy, and India’s rightful place in shaping the global discourse.

Historic Philosophical Roots

The Vice President invoked references to Vedic texts, the Mahabharata’s Dharma Yuddha, Ashokan diplomacy, and Kautilya’s Mandala theory, noting their relevance in contemporary geopolitics. He mentioned past Indian thinkers like KM Panikkar and VD Savarkar whose vision for India’s post-war global role still resonates.

Call for Strategic Self-Reliance

The speech also addressed existential challenges, demographic concerns, and national identity. He underlined the urgency of safeguarding Bharat’s values and advocated strength-based diplomacy. “Peace comes from strength,” he said, referencing the legitimacy of force when defending sovereignty.

India’s Global Responsibility

The Vice President reiterated India’s role as a first responder in crises and its leadership in diplomacy, digital public infrastructure, and humanitarian outreach. He cited India’s global leadership during G20 and praised the country’s inclusive development model.

Vision for Viksit Bharat
