ACC Clears Promotion for Manoj Shashidhar
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the elevation of *Manoj Shashidhar*, a 1994 batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre, to the rank of **Special Director** in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Tenure and Conditions of the New Role
According to an order by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Shashidhar will serve as Special Director until his superannuation on **November 30, 2030**, or until further orders, whichever comes first.
About Manoj Shashidhar’s Career
Before this promotion, Shashidhar was working as an **Additional Director** in the CBI. He has held several significant positions during his policing career, including Police Commissioner of Vadodara, Inspector General of Police of Gandhinagar Range, and other leadership roles in the Gujarat cadre.
Restoration of the Special Director Posts
The appointment comes at a time when the government has reinstated the posts of Special Director in the CBI, which earlier were functioning under the grade of Additional Director.
