Indian Railways Launches RailOne App for Seamless Passenger Experience

In a major leap toward simplifying train travel, Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the RailOne mobile app on the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) in New Delhi. The app is positioned as a one-stop solution for all railway passenger needs, designed with a modern, user-friendly interface.

Available on both Android and iOS platforms, RailOne offers seamless access to key services such as:

  • Unreserved ticket booking via R-Wallet with a 3% discount
  • Live train tracking
  • Passenger grievance redressal
  • E-catering, porter booking, and last-mile taxi options

The app features a single-sign-on system with support for mPIN and biometric login, and also accepts existing RailConnect and UTS credentials. It is designed to replace multiple apps, helping users save both space and time.

While reserved tickets will continue to be available through IRCTC, RailOne has been officially authorized by IRCTC as a trusted partner app, joining a growing ecosystem of rail-tech innovations.

Speaking at the event, Shri Vaishnaw congratulated the CRIS team and urged them to further enhance the Indian Railways’ digital backbone. He commended progress on the Modern Passenger Reservation System (PRS), expected to be operational by December 2025. The new PRS will support multilingual access, improved seat selection, and services for Divyangjan, students, and patients, with the ability to handle 1.5 lakh bookings and 40 lakh inquiries per minute.

RailOne is part of the broader vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make Indian Railways the growth engine of India’s “Vikas Yatra”. By consolidating key services into a single app, the ministry aims to make digital access easier and more inclusive for every passenger.
