What Is the AI Holobox Initiative?
The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya will unveil a **life-size AI-powered Holobox** of **Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel** on 17 September 2025. The immersive exhibit will allow visitors to have interactive, lifelike conversations with a hyper-realistic 3D avatar of Sardar Patel, covering his life, vision, and pivotal moments.
Where & When It Will Be Launched
The launch will take place at the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in New Delhi. The date is chosen for its dual historical significance: the anniversary of Operation Polo’s success in 1948 (Hyderabad’s integration with India) and Prime Minister Modi’s birthday in 1950.
Features & Visitor Experience
- Visitors can pose questions and receive responses from the AI avatar about Sardar Patel’s philosophies, life story, and role in India’s unity.
- The exhibit will use archival material—speeches, books, historical documents—to train the AI so responses are authentic in tone and content.
- The Sangrahalaya is planning similar AI Holobox installations in the future, for example, of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Why This Matters
This Holobox is a pioneering example of blending **heritage and technology**, offering a new way for younger generations and visitors to engage with India’s leaders in an interactive format. It helps preserve historical memory while making learning immersive.
The use of AI avatars in museums also represents a shift in how museums are evolving globally, aiming for experiential learning rather than just display.
