PM Modi Holds Talks with Mauritius PM Ramgoolam to Deepen Strategic Partnership
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Mauritius, H.E. Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, on June 24, 2025. The discussion reinforced the longstanding and special relationship between India and Mauritius.
Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between the two nations. They reviewed ongoing collaboration in key areas including development cooperation, capacity building, maritime security, defence, digital infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges.
Prime Minister Modi expressed appreciation for PM Ramgoolam’s enthusiastic participation in the 11th International Day of Yoga, reflecting shared cultural values and global engagement.
During the call, PM Modi reiterated India’s firm support for Mauritius’ developmental goals in line with India’s Vision MAHASAGAR and the Neighbourhood First policy. He also extended a cordial invitation to PM Ramgoolam to visit India at an early date.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue deepening cooperation across multiple sectors in the Indo-Pacific region.
