In a big leap for India’s digital infrastructure, the Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, launched the SAKSHAM-3000 at the C-DOT campus in Delhi. The cutting-edge switch-cum-router, developed indigenously by the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), boasts an impressive throughput of 25.6 Tbps, positioning it among the fastest in the world.
SAKSHAM-3000 is designed to power high-performance workloads such as 5G/6G networks, AI clusters, cloud computing, and hyperscale data centers. It supports 32 ports of 400G and a range of Ethernet speeds from 1G to 400G, all with ultra-low latency and wire-speed processing.
Dr. Sekhar commended the engineers of C-DOT for delivering not just technology but a “national asset.” He called upon the team to envision where India should be in five years and lead globally. “Let’s move from success to significance. By 2047, C-DOT should stand shoulder to shoulder with companies like Nokia, Ericsson, and Huawei,” he urged.
He also encouraged India’s deeper engagement with international standards organizations like 3GPP, ITU, and ETSI and reaffirmed government support through autonomy, funding, and strategic partnerships.
Key Features of SAKSHAM-3000:
- Compact 25.6 Tbps switch-router with 32x400G ports
- Built on modular CROS (C-DOT Router Operating System)
- Supports Layer-2, IP, and MPLS protocols
- Designed for both legacy and cloud-native network environments
- Features advanced QoS including WRR and WRED
- Supports time-sensitive networking with PTP and Sync-E
- Hot-swappable fans and power units for high availability
- Energy-efficient and future-proof
The Minister’s visit included lab interactions with C-DOT scientists and reviews of innovations across quantum communication, disaster response systems, cyber security, and 5G/4G core platforms—many of which are already under deployment.
CEO Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay thanked the Minister and pledged full alignment with the government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, calling SAKSHAM-3000 a proud example of Indian ingenuity and global ambition.
