India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), a wholly government-owned digital banking entity under the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, has been awarded the prestigious Digital Payments Award 2024-25 by the Ministry of Finance. This award honors IPPB’s significant contributions to expanding digital payments and financial inclusion in India.

Top Rank Among All Payments Banks

For FY 2024–25, IPPB ranked first among all payments banks in India in the official performance index and earned a Special Mention for its achievements in FY 2023–24. The award was presented by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and Shri Pankaj Chaudhary, MoS (Finance), and was received by Shri R. Viswesvaran, MD & CEO, and Shri Gursharan Rai Bansal, CGM & CSMO, IPPB.

Launched in September 2018, IPPB leverages a unique doorstep banking model supported by more than 2 lakh Postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks. With over 1.65 lakh post offices (85% in rural areas), and advanced biometric and mobile technologies, IPPB is delivering secure, paperless, and cashless digital services to more than 11 crore customers in over 5.57 lakh villages and towns.
