Zimbabwe’s Vice President, General (Retd.) Dr. C.G.D.N. Chiwenga, has arrived in Surat for a two-day business-centric visit, organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI).
Industry Tours and Strategic Meetings
The high-level delegation toured industrial hubs such as diamond processing units in Bhatpore, textile dyeing mills, and Sumul Dairy. On the second day, they visited the city’s prominent APMC market, diamond firms in Katargam, and Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), where they met with academics and industry leaders.
Chalo Zimbabwe: Business & Cultural Connect
A highlight of the visit is the ‘Chalo Zimbabwe’ event at SGCCI’s Sarsana campus, featuring cultural performances and business networking. The programme aims to foster partnerships across sectors like diamonds, textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and energy.
