In a remarkable event at Raj Bhavan, Gujarat Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat launched the 17-volume spiritual anthology “Ved Manjusha”, published by Neeta Prakashan. The mega collection includes 20,348 Vedic hymns, meticulously translated into Sanskrit, Hindi, and English, making them accessible to a global audience.
18 Years of Tireless Effort
Esteemed academician and retired professor of Delhi University, Dr. Puran Chand Tandon, undertook the monumental task of translating and simplifying the Vedic scriptures. The work took nearly 18 years to complete and presents not just translations, but meanings and summaries of each hymn to ensure understanding by readers of all backgrounds.
Governor’s Reflections on the Vedas
During the ceremony, Shri Acharya Devvrat remarked that the Vedas are divine knowledge gifted to mankind, not authored by any individual. He emphasized that the Vedas form the root of all sciences and that reconnecting with them is crucial for spiritual and cultural revival.
Tribute to Swami Dayanand Saraswati
The Governor acknowledged Swami Dayanand Saraswati’s role in reviving Vedic knowledge, particularly in Gujarat. He mentioned that without such reformers, the Vedas might have remained obscured under centuries of neglect.
Legacy of Radheyshyam Gupta
The inspiration behind “Ved Manjusha” came from late Radheyshyam Gupta, founder of Neeta Prakashan. His daughter-in-law Smt. Shanti Deviji and son Shri Rakesh Gupta fulfilled his dream of spreading Vedic wisdom across generations. The Governor honored both Shri Gupta and Dr. Tandon for their spiritual and academic contributions.
