Major General Humaid Mohammed Abdullah Alremeithi, Commander of the UAE Naval Forces, is on an official visit to India from July 7 to July 9, 2025. His visit reflects a strong commitment from both nations to bolster maritime cooperation and strengthen bilateral ties in the Indian Ocean Region.
The three-day visit commenced on July 8, 2025, with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial in New Delhi, where Maj Gen Alremeithi paid tribute to India’s fallen heroes. Following the ceremony, he was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour and held discussions with Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, Indian Navy.
During the bilateral talks, both leaders explored avenues for enhancing operational engagements, training exchanges, and deeper naval cooperation. These strategic discussions focused on building interoperability between the two navies and reinforcing shared maritime interests, especially in the strategically vital Indian Ocean Region.
Maj Gen Alremeithi also met with India’s Chief of the Defence Staff, further emphasizing the high-level nature of the visit and the expanding defense relationship between India and the UAE. The engagements mark a significant step in shaping future collaborations in areas of maritime security, information sharing, and joint naval exercises.
This visit marks a key milestone in the evolving India-UAE naval partnership and reaffirms the commitment of both nations to peace, security, and stability in the broader Indo-Pacific region.
