Overview of the Programs
On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will organize 672 programs across Gujarat as part of its centenary year celebrations. The announcement was made by Dr. Jayantibhai Bhadesiya, Sanghchalak, Western Region, RSS. The expected participation is around 1,65,000 swayamsevaks.
Outreach & Community Engagement
- Under the “Ghar Sampark Abhiyan” (Home Contact Campaign), approximately 2,10,000 workers will reach out to 9 million households across 18,000 villages over 23 days.
- 4,670 Hindu Sammelans (conventions) will be organized with about 13,70,000 people expected to participate.
- 571 goodwill meetings with social leaders involving around 16,600 participants.
- Youth Conventions at 580 locations with about 87,000 young volunteers taking part.
Branch & Shakha Details
Gujarat currently has:
- 2,421 daily branches (shakhas) — 1,247 student shakhas and 1,174 professional shakhas.
- 1,612 weekly shakhas and 844 monthly shakhas.
Thematic Focus of Celebrations
The programs will revolve around five themes for societal transformation: family guidance, environment, social harmony, Swadeshi (self-reliance), and civic duty. Distinguished personalities from across Gujarat will attend many of the events, including respected names from arts, judiciary, social service, and culture.
