Voting for the 2025 Gram Panchayat elections in Jamnagar district began peacefully on June 22, 2025. The polling started at 7:00 AM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from voters across the district.
A total of 4,42,577 voters are eligible to cast their votes across 187 Gram Panchayat seats, including 2,26,386 male voters and 2,16,178 female voters. The elections cover six talukas of Jamnagar district: Dhrol, Kalavad, Jamjodhpur, Jamnagar, Lalpur, and Jodiya.
Under the guidance of District Collector Shri Ketan Thakkar, elaborate arrangements were made to ensure smooth and peaceful polling. A total of 426 polling stations were set up, of which 101 were declared sensitive.
More than 2,244 personnel have been deployed to conduct the election process, while over 1,500 police and paramilitary personnel including ASPs and DYSPs were assigned to maintain law and order. Additionally, approximately 1,915 officers from police force and home guards were stationed at polling booths, strong rooms, and counting centers.
For addressing election-related complaints, a 24×7 control room has been made operational at 0288-2541960. A public holiday was declared on voting day to facilitate maximum voter turnout.
The vote counting will take place on June 25, 2025, at six designated counting centers across the district.
