MSU Vadodara Gets New Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bhalchandra M. Bhanage

Leadership at Last: New VC Joins MSU

After nearly nine months of vacancy, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU), Vadodara, has appointed **Prof. Bhalchandra M. Bhanage** as the new Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Dhanesh Patel had served as in-charge since January following the resignation of the previous VC.

Academic Credentials & Background

  • Senior Professor of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai.
  • Received degrees from University of Pune (M.Sc.) and National Chemical Laboratory (Ph.D.). Fellowships and research roles include NCL, Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS), and long-standing tenure at ICT from 2004 onwards.

Term & Appointment Process

Prof. Bhanage is appointed for a **five-year term**, following recommendations from the state government–appointed search committee.
