Gujarat Rainfall Update – Jodia Records 7 Inches, Heavy Rain Across 33 Districts

Jodia in Jamnagar Receives 7 Inches of Rain

According to the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), Gandhinagar, Jamnagar district’s Jodia taluka recorded the highest rainfall at over 7 inches in the last 24 hours. Mendarada in Junagadh followed with 6 inches.

Rainfall Recorded in Other Talukas

Surat’s Palasana, Valsad’s Kaparada, Banaskantha’s Amirgarh, and Junagadh’s Vanthali and Keshod talukas reported more than 5 inches of rainfall. In addition, over 4 inches were recorded in Kalavad (Jamnagar), Umarpada (Surat), Junagadh city and taluka, and Manavadar.

More than 3 inches of rain was seen in Kamrej (Surat), Vapi and Pardi (Valsad), Kutiyana (Porbandar), Paddhari, Jetpur, and Dhoraji (Rajkot), Khergam (Navsari), Bhesan (Junagadh), and Gandhidham (Kutch).

Statewide Monsoon Progress

Across Gujarat, 165 talukas in 33 districts experienced rainfall in the last 24 hours. 10 talukas recorded more than 2 inches, 26 talukas over 1 inch, and 106 talukas under 1 inch. The overall average rainfall in Gujarat now stands at 18.61% for the season.
