The Gir Foundation, Gandhinagar, under the guidance of Director Ms. Aradhana Shahu, celebrated International Tiger Day 2025 with a series of activities on 29 July. The event aimed to raise awareness about the ecological importance of tigers and the urgent need for their conservation.

A highlight of the celebrations was an interactive dialogue programme titled “Feel the Roar, Heal the Fear”. Students from Akhandanand Ayurvedic College, Ahmedabad, engaged in discussions on the tiger’s ecological role, conservation strategies, and the need to protect their habitats.

The programme featured a special video presentation, providing detailed insights into the tiger’s importance as the largest member of the cat family and a vital part of India’s natural heritage. Students were urged to become ambassadors for wildlife conservation.

Adding to the significance, a food enrichment programme was organised for Indroda Nature Park’s tigers, “Bandhav” and “Bandhavi”, symbolising care and conservation of the majestic species.
