In the June 2025 edition of the statewide “Swagat” grievance redressal program, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel personally heard and responded to citizen complaints across various sectors including municipal services, land revenue, and police matters.
CM Patel emphasized that applicants should not have to escalate small grievances to the state level. He directed district collectors and other administrative officers to ensure that previous instructions given during “Swagat” sessions are strictly implemented.
During this session, 98 critical cases from across Gujarat were presented, out of which 12 were personally heard by the Chief Minister. The remaining 86 cases were reviewed by the CM’s public contact team and forwarded to district-level officials with instructions for prompt action.
Issues raised included encroachments on roads, delays in irrigation scheme documentation updates, and revenue disputes. CM Patel ordered strict action in cases of unauthorized commercial activities in residential societies and unresolved measurements of farmers’ lands.
In a particularly impactful decision, the CM resolved a long-standing grievance related to outdated Section-4 annotations in land records for irrigation project-affected farmers. The annotation was removed, ending years of administrative delay.
In total, 3,349 grievances were submitted across village, taluka, district, and state levels in June, and 1,757 (50%) were successfully resolved. Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Avantika Singh, Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey, and Special Duty Officers Shri Dheeraj Parikh and Shri Rakesh Vyas, participated via video conferencing along with district-level teams.
