Revenue Talati Prelim Exam Sees Over 4.25 Lakh Applicants, Conducted Smoothly Across Gujarat

Preliminary Exam Held Across Gujarat Without Incident

The Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB) conducted the preliminary exam for **2,384 posts** of Revenue Talati-Class III on Sunday. Over **1,384 exam centres** spread across **23 districts** were used. The exam ran from 2 PM to 5 PM under strict supervision to prevent malpractice.

Massive Response from Candidates

More than **4.25 lakh** candidates applied for the roles. By Saturday evening, over **3.99 lakh** call letters had been downloaded—indicating very high engagement.

Exam Pattern & Selection Process

  • The preliminary stage was **OMR-based** and carried **200 marks**.
  • Negative marking applied: **0.25 mark deducted** for each wrong answer.
  • Next stage (Main Exam) will include three papers: Gujarati, English, and General Knowledge—each of **100 marks**. Dates for mains will be declared later.

Security & Fairness Measures

Authorities implemented stringent security measures: biometric verification for each candidate entering exam centres. Also, efforts were made to ensure paper-leakage prevention.

Why This Recruitment Is Significant

This is the first major Revenue Talati recruitment in nearly a decade. The large number of applicants, the spread of exam centres, and the smooth conduct reflect both the demand among job seekers and the administration’s preparedness.

What Candidates Should Know Next

Qualified candidates from the prelims will move on to the mains. Dates for main examinations will be announced in due course. Candidates should keep an eye on GSSSB’s official notices and the OJAS portal for updates.
