122 Vehicles Flagged Off for Rain and Water Projects
Under the Catch the Rain 2.0 initiative and ongoing dam/canal work, Gujarat Water Resources Minister Shri Kunvarji Bavaliya flagged off 122 heavy-duty machines and vehicles worth ₹18.61 crore from Gandhinagar.
Machines to Support Dams, Canals, and Emergency Response
The new fleet includes:
- 107 Bolero inspection vehicles – ₹9.82 crore
- Backhoe loaders, hydraulic excavators, compactors, and prime movers
- 2 dozers worth ₹3.58 crore
These will support tasks like deepening ponds, canal desilting, flood relief, repairing embankments, and monitoring active water schemes in the field.
Statewide Impact Expected
The machinery will boost productivity in over 70 lakh cubic meters of annual silt removal and enable district-level offices to monitor work during the monsoon. This also ensures faster response for sudden flood situations and infrastructure inspections.
